Green walks through Buckingham parks and wildlife corridors

One of Buckingham’s best kept secrets is the green parkland that snakes through the centre of the town. This explorer route is designed to highlight some of the hidden pockets visitors might not know about. Most of this trail is well away from roads and child friendly activities are available for every location, from hunting for insects to ideas for games to play while in the woods, this trail has been a firm family favourite since Buxplore launched. For photography fans this route offers fantastic opportunities to take photographs of wildlife including kestrels, wild flowers and the most beautiful parts of the River Great Ouse.

Stowe House and Gardens

View this breathtaking house and the world famous “Capability Brown” gardens from a different point of view. Start in the Town Centre and discover buildings paid for by Lord Cobham’s descendents and their entwined history in the town before heading along Stowe Avenue and Queen’s drive to approach Stowe House along the same route Queen Victoria took in 1845. Discover the temples and gardens from the parkland. This is a long walk, with café and toilets available at the National Trust New Inn. Fantastic for dog walkers and anyone looking for an active full day out! Due to low phone signal on parts of the route we recommend turning on virtual mode to get the most out of Buxplore.
