Christmas at Claydon House

Join Claydon House on a tour of the rooms to hear how members of the Verney family and their servants celebrated Christmas across three centuries. With shutters tightly closed the House, illuminated by dozens of flickering candles, recreates the spirit of Christmases past. Their decorations range from simple 17th century to handmade Victorian ornaments to 1950s nostalgia.

Visit notable figures throughout our history, from the pirate Sir Francis to Parthenope, sister of Florence Nightingale, as well as the servants that looked after the house and its residents. Their second hand bookshop will be open for browsing, as well as the Claydon courtyard for a warm drink and bite to eat.
