As part of our Fireside Talk series, join Sir Anthony Seldon in conversation with Greg Doran as they discuss Shakespeare and his plays.
Described by the Sunday Times as “one of the great Shakespearians of his generation” Greg has directed over three quarters of the Shakespeare canon. Notable RSC productions include Macbeth starring Antony Sher, Hamlet starring David Tennant, Antony and Cleopatra with Harriet Walter and Patrick Stewart, All’s Well that Ends Well with Judi Dench, The Tempest with Simon Russell Beale, and Julius Caesar with an all black British cast.
His first season as Artistic Director in 2013 opened with David Tennant as Richard II which was also the first production in the “Live From Stratford-upon-Avon” programme – a commitment to broadcast all of Shakespeare’s plays to cinemas around the world, and to stream them into UK schools for free.
In 2002 he won the Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement of the Year.
In 2016 he delivered the Richard Dimbleby Lecture.
Publications include Woza Shakespeare (with his partner Antony Sher), The Shakespeare Almanac, and Shakespeare’s Lost Play: In Search of Cardenio.
