NEW DRUMMING GROUP TO BEAT THE BLUES IN BUCKINGHAM!
Accent Percussion is a recently formed community percussion group set up with the aim of helping people improve their mental health and their general wellbeing. Having been invited to perform at Buckingham Town Council’s Small Business Day event they are delighted to announce that, starting from February 7th at Buckingham Football Club.
Drumming may benefit both physical and mental health. Accent Percussion believe that it can reduce anxiety and stress, help relieve depression, lower blood pressure, can help to control chronic pain, burns calories, develop confidence, and improves coordination. Playing for just a few minutes has been shown to boost your mood. The physical stimulation of drumming and the vibrations that resonate through every cell in the body stimulate the release of negative emotions. Drumming as a group is inclusive; it is for everyone.
Zac Lever, Musical Director at Accent Percussion commented “Since we started our aim has always been to have regular sessions in Buckingham and with the football club, we have the perfect fit. This really is for everyone, we saw When we performed in Buckingham, we saw how it really is for everyone, families were taking part together, all ages, all abilities, it was wonderful!”
Tony Checkley, Chairman of Buckingham Football Club said “We look forward to helping Accent Percussion build, what sounds to be, a very valuable community group”.
Accent Percussion is an all-inclusive group, regardless of age, ethnicity, gender, ability or experience, Accent Percussion creates a safe and accepting space for everyone to fully express themselves through the power of percussion.
